EJ, I know you have trouble logging on and writing, so I did you a favor and copied your letter to Richert onto our blog! :)
Richert,
So good to get your email address. I had it at one time and sent you a very lengthy email sometime in April 2006. It was newsy because it was right after Katrina and about my Katrina experience. Do you remember receiving anything from me? Our computers crashed and I haven't been able to find it are I would send it to you again. Long and short of everything.....we lost your home & all our possessions in Katrina, spent 7 months living in my Daddy's old hunting camp in the woods about 12 miles east of Kentwood. In Jan. 2006 we sold the guttered remains of our house in New Orleans and the rental property that I owned. Ten days after selling the house in N.O. a tornado hit it. If we had been living there probably would have died. The two houses in back of us were knocked off their slabs (one was 4,500 sq.ft) In March 2006, bought a house in Hammond. Love living here. We are near my bothers' daughter and her children (12 yr. girl and 5 yr. boy). Troy's wife died in Sept.2001. His grandchildren are now my grandchildren too. They are a lot of fun. I'm semi-retired, drawing my social security, and working when I want to. Life is very good. My husband, C.B., not sure if you ever met him, anyway, he has a website (www.forgotston.com) Check it out. Jeff told me he had contacted you. That would be great if y'all were able to connect when he is in N.Y. Would love to hear from you.
Love, Ella Joy
