Part 2? From There to There

Hey I'm really gettin into this blog thing. Just thought I'd continue the update with a little more history and I hope you guys will all do the same. Wanted to bring you up to date on where I am today from where I've been. After a kind of long term false start (incredibly predicted by a tarot reader) I began to make my living in the theatre. I had a few roles in films but that never really took off as it seems that theatre was what I seemed to be the most sought after for. In fact, I was on withdrawal from SAG (Screen Actors Guild) until a couple of years ago when I did a Law and Order and had to resume paying my dues. But, over the course of a great portion of my life I have managed to make a living in the theatre albeit sometimes not a huge one. For those of you who might not know, I lived in Greenwich Village which I adored until 1994 when I made a move that might be the smartest thing I've ever done. I moved into an apartment complex in midtown called Manhattan Plaza which is a partially subsidised housing complex for people who make their living in the performing arts. In it's simplest terms, it allows me to live in the most expensive city in the US by letting me base my rent on my income. If my income goes up so does my rent and if it comes down then my rent comes down also. Hard to believe but it's true. Since I've pretty much been a gypsey all my life I don't have a whole lot of possessions, and not a whole hell of a lot of savings. But if I had to, I could live here on a fixed income, and I dont know of another place in the US that I could do that if I didn't own something. My apartment is a small but roomy studio on the 34th floor on the corner of 43rd St and 9th Ave. If you know NYC you know that I'm right in the thick of everything. It's all walkable from where I live. I have a lovely view of the harbor down town, and I can see the Statue of Liberty. There was a time I could see the Empire State Building too, but a new hi-rise obscurred that part of the view. I had a clear view of the WTC, but fortunately I missed 9/11 by one week. I returned to NYC exactly one week after it occurred, and from my window I watched smoke rising daily for months. More about what living in NYC was like during that time in another post. (ok someone has to write and tell me how to get photos to post where I want them to...the above photo was supposed to appear here) I can't get the photo to follow the text...anyone have an idea?)
Anyway....the above photo is a sunset view from my apartment. Nice huh? More to come. I need to do some research on how to make this layout do what I want it to do.
