When Mama was in the assisted living
facility in N.O. Rocky played for the Mardi Gras Ball. Mama and her
significant other were Queen and King one year.

The pictures are wonderful, especially, the Elroy Theater.
Jimmy Schwartz is in my water aerobics class at SLU and I'm sure he has tons of old photos. He is a poet and has written some very touching poems about growing up in Kentwood and remembering how it was in the '40's,50's & 60's.
I also remember when we would go out of town, one of the things we would aways say when coming home...
"I see the water tank". We knew then we would soon be home.
Jimmy Schwartz has 4 CD's now and they are wonderful. It has just a lot of things that mean something only to those who grew up in Kentwood---plus his voice
is---I just can't even say how his voice sounds. It's one of those things "you have to be there".
What a shame that Kentwood is in the condition it now is, but oh the memories of days gone by. Thank you Richert for posting the pictures. I just can't remember the names of all the businesses from then, and those I can I don't remember exactly where some of them were located. Seeing the pictures helps jog my memory.
