Hello, Everyone!
Our junior prom theme was "Rhapsody in Blue" complete with silver notes and angel hair if I remember correctly. I remember that my father had to order the angel hair for us when we were sophomores to be sure that we had it for our junior year. Boy, have times changed. The old gym is still here for a while at least.
I have been "lurking" when I have had a chance, but I have not had time to post photos or anything yet. I have just clawed my way to the surface having been buried under an avalanche of senior research papers for the last time. Now I have the junior ones coming in next week. This too shall pass as my last day of school is May 28th. Bonnie, I can commiserate with you and LEAP scores.
I am still catching up with reading the older posts. I am afraid that I have dropped the ball on getting in touch with Kathleen, but I did see Lynn a couple of weeks ago. She was at Ms. Vada Pearl's and my husband was doing a little maintenance job for her. She is recovering from heart surgery and should be back at work by now. She is very interested in the blog but didn't have her email, etc. set up at home quite yet. I'll keep checking with her. We had a nice visit.
I hope that all of you moms had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly did.
As I said, this is just a note to let you know that I am still around. By the way, can anyone tell me how I became RoseBlooms on this thing? All I can figure out is it must have been a nickname on another blog. Anyway, I'll live with it!

Rosemary, I thought you were so creative with the Rose Blooms name! I can't believe it appeared out of nowhere. Okay, Richert, you win! It was "Rhapsody in Blue", but I still remember Blue Moon as something or the other! I had a great Mother's Day. My best gift was that both of my son-in-laws called on their own to wish me a special day! Oh, and my other 3 children remembered as well.
Rsemary, Good to hear from you. I remember decorating the gym with all that angel hair. It's a wonder we were not sent to the hospital with eye injuries. I think the school finally baned using it. It was so scratchy.
Rosemary, great to hear from you. I thought that was the prom theme but wasn't sure enough to voice an opinion. And Margaret, you are right also. I don't know what the occasion was but a group of us sang for something, might have had to do with the prom, and we as a group or Dorothy Hilburn (sp?) sang "Blue Moon" as a solo. Don't remember what else was sung either but do remember that song. My "part-timers" disease must be working overtime this morning.
Rosemary---good to hear from you. Yeah May 29th. I think they lowered the grading standards on LEAP this year. Had to!!! Have tried several times to get in touch with Lynn. Talked to her once. She was going to e-mail me at Tangischools but, I never heard from her. I don't remember anything about the Jr/Sr prom. But, if we decorated for it, wouldn't that be the clas above us and we were putting it on for them? I'm confused. Bonnie
Rosemary--I'm really not that confused. I went back and reread your post. Of course it was our Jr. year. My bad!!! bkk
