A little more about Jeff and Mary Ann's Visit
Now that I have caught up briefly I wanted to share a few more details about seeing Jeff and Mary Ann. I had emailed Jeff that this was true old fashioned summer stock, and that when it came down to it since we were performing one show and rehearsing another we really had only about 45 hours of rehearsal time. I told him that the opening night audience would be the first audience to see the play and that truly anything could happen. My biggest regret was that because of rehearsals on the day of the opening I couldn't have dinner with them before the show but was thrilled that they could be my guests at the cast party afterward. I talked to them in the afternoon as they were on the way to the area and they wished me "break a leg" and then I didn't see them until around out back of the theatre after the performance. When I emerged from the theatre they were engaged in excited conversation with the Producer of the theatre who had known that I had a high-school classmate in the audience and had figured out the people waiting for me must be them. I was thrilled that it had been a sold out house and that while we are all quite nervous the performance had gone well and the audience had responded with laughter in all the right places. Outside Jeff informed me that indeed the last time we had seen each other was when we were both 18!!!! His car was filled with a table that he had built for his daughter in New Hampshire, so I got in a friend's car and Jeff and Mary Ann followed us to the home of the former board member who was giving the opening night party. Jeff and Mary Ann were able to meet a number of people in the cast, our hostess, the director of the show, and other people who were at the party and enjoy some of the food and wine that was available to the guests. In between all the theatre "schmoozing" we were able to catch up a bit, talk about old times, Kentwood past and present and the vastly different paths our lives had taken. The only thing sad about the whole affair was that they couldn't stay longer so that we could go to breakfast the next day. They are a wonderful and complimentary couple to each other, and it was terrific to spend even the little amount of time we had together. It was a joyful evening and here's hoping maybe I can encounter some more of you the same way.

Richert, how much fun that must have been. I know Mary Ann through EJ and she is truly a neat person! Okay, I am coming to see you perform!!! I just don't know when. I'm going to drag the slumber party girls with me.
FYI to anyone interested: I'm off on a mini-vacation to the Texas hill country with my whole family and half of Houston. I'll be back on Sunday!
Richert, I also am going to do my best to attend one of your plays! Don't know when or where but hopefully one day. Maybe I'll meet up with the slumber party gang when they go see one.
I can just imagine how exciting it was to see Jeff & Mary Ann even if it was for just a short visit.
