Hello again from PA!

Hi all. We've been busy opening the last show for me here this week so I've been away from the blog and there have been so many neat posts that I thought it would be easier to post anew than comment on each one. The last show for me here by the way is Bell Book and Candle. Remember the movie with Kim Novac and Jimmy Stewart about modern witches living in NYC. It was released in 1958 and Broadway play was several years before. It made a real impression on me and now I'm playing the role of Sidney Retleitch...played by Ernie Kovacs in the film. It's great fun. Anywaaay.....

I love seeing the pictures of the class reunion. Would really love to have gone and seen all those folks I haven't seen in years. Thanks for posting them and like everyone else I think a pic is worth a thousand words so keep em coming.

When I first read the post about the contest I had no memory of it. But then when I saw the picture it began to come back to me a little. I had no idea you girls were threatened to be in the contest. I seem to remember that Charles Sanders and I played something between acts. I think I accompanied him on the piano and he played Stormy Weather. But even in the kind of distant black and white photo I'm once again impressed as I used to be about what an attractive class we had. And Margaret I wish I had a memory of you doing South Pacific! I must have suggested it because I loved the movie although it's not appreciated critically now a days....and South Pacific remains one of my all time favorite musicals and I've managed to be in two productions of it over the years. I regret that I haven't been able to see the acclaimed revival in NYC.

Here's one more memory that the contest jogged up. Do you remember a pep rally in the gym I think it was... and the Kangarettes were performing a number. I seem to remember that it was not something the band was playing but instead a recorded piece of music......But the number ended with the girls somehow rolling along the floor. Well some teachers got all bent out of shape because they thought that was vulgar and suggestive and it all caused quite a stir?
I don't remember who the choreographer of the dance was...but I do remember we thought at the time that the teachers were just all a bunch of fuddyduddies. Anybody else recall that dust-up?

Well I have gone on and on haven't I. So glad to get this last show opened. I'm here until July 27th then back to NYC for a week then on to Cincy.

Hi Richert, good to hear from you again. When are you going to be in Missouri. I had it written down, but of course I lost it. And what play will you be doing. Maybe some of us could get together and come see you.

Bonnie, I hope you are getting some rest and enjoying your summer. LOL
