Alexandria Elizabeth Smith, 7 lbs 4 oz, has arrived! We are settling in at Caroline and Grant’s place in NH and having a ball with our new granddaughter and our 2 year old grandson, Stratton. Stephanie and Jackson our 4 year old grandson will be arriving from NC tomorrow to help us celebrate the 4th together in Amherst NH.
The trip north was our best road trip ever, especially the stop in Gettysburg to visit with Richert. We checked in to a local B&B around 5 pm and had just enough time to clean up before our short drive to the Totem Pole Theater.
We stopped at the box office and picked up our prearranged complimentary tickets from Richert. We spent a few minutes looking at the “Lying in State” marquee outside illustrating Richert with the lead role and feeling proud that we new the lead actor in the play. It was exciting to see our classmate that I have not seen since we were both 17 as a professional actor and whose performance was simply outstanding! After the play we walked around to the back of the theater as Richert had directed and waited for him for our trip to the cast’s opening night after hours party. As we waited for Richert we had the opportunity to talk to several of the cast and producers before meeting Richert for our trip to the party. The party was at the home of one of the board members of Totem Pole Theater who was a wonderful host. We felt like royalty as we were the only non theater people at the party. Mary Anne and I had a wonderful time visiting with Richert and members of the cast and were disappointed that we had to leave early the next day to visit Mary Ann’s brother in Lititz PA. If you get the chance, don’t miss seeing Richert in one of his performances ,it is truly special to see one of our very own classmate with such talent.
We will be enjoying our kids in one of the favorite places we lived, Amherst NH. Caroline and Grant recently moved out of their farmhouse (built in 1765) to our old neighborhood were Caroline and Stephanie grew up so it is a lot like going home again.
I’m sorry I missed the reunion and can’t wait to see some photo’s

Congratulations! She is just beautiful. Give my best to Mary Anne, Caroline, and Grant.
Ella Joy, My daughter pointed out I mispelled my granddaughter's name. It's Alexandra and she is a cutie! Did Johnny come over for the reunion? Post those photo's.
Jeff and Mary Anne, Congratulations on your beautiful new granddaughter.
I know the doting grandparents are more doting than ever.
And thanks for the review of Richert's play. I'm dying to see him in action.
Jeff,
Yes, Norma Jean and Johnny did come.
I hope to get those pictures up soon.
My secretary, CB, has been extremely business with all that is going on with our new governor and the legislatures voting themselves a 123% pay raise. He has been on two & three talk shows a day...Jindal was refusing to veto the bill even though he felt it was excessive & wrong. CB
and Moon Griffin (talk show host in Monroe) put the facts out and the citizens were so out raged that he had to veto the bill. Lots of stuff on CB's website about this if you have time to take a look.

Congratulations! What a beautiful baby girl. Enjoy your stay with your girls and grandchildren.
Jeff, when I have time I'm going to e-mail you some pictures of old cars than Kenny has restored. I read a comment that you had made that you enjoyed the picture of an old car that Renee had posted. Kenny has restored lots of them and right now we have two of them.
Hooray for you and your new Grandaughter. What a great way to celebrate the 4th. And as I have posted before, was great to see you and to meet Mary Anne. And yes EJ...can't wait to see the reunion pics when you have time!
Janice, Thanks, I would love to see the cars. Post them on the blog too.
