Okay, Sandra wants y'all to know she has been reading the blog and will post her own note soon. However, here's an update on what's going on in her life:
Thanks for getting a blog started for the Class of 1962. It has been fun hearing about our classmates. I will try to post a comment soon. Steve and I are flying to Reno to visit our daughter Sheri and her family on August 4. She and Michael have blessed us with 3 granddaughters, Elisha,13, Shaina 9, and Carissa 7. We will arrive on Shaina’s birthday. She has big plans (river rafting, a trip to Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley, and of course a little shopping). They live in northeast California where Michael is Chaplain at the Federal Prison in Herlong.
Our son Mike and his wife Shelley also have 3 daughters, Sarabeth, 18, Macy 16, and Ashley 13. They live in Denham Springs and we get to visit with them often.. We went to Destin with this the first of June and has a great time.
Aren’t grandchildren lots of fun?
Steve and I have enjoyed hearing from everyone. The next time you girls plan to get together please let me know. Since I am no longer working maybe I could join you..
Steve and I go to see his mom and my mom on the weekend and take them out to dinner. Mom is doing well and still goes out to the furniture store daily. His mom ‘s health is not as good but she still enjoys cooking for us on Saturdays. I am taking care of my dad’s sister who is widowed and is unable to drive. Steve and I recently went to Destin with our son Mike and his family.(Shelley, Sarabeth, Macy, and Ashley.) We had a great time and Steve enjoyed snorkeling with Mike and the girls.
Mike and his family live in Denham Springs. It’s nice having them close. It’s not fun having Sheri so far from home. She sends pictures on the computer and we talk on the phone every day. That helps.Well enough talk for now I need to go shop for a new bathing suit for our trip. I’ve waited for the sales. This could be a depressing experience trying on swimsuits. My granddaughters are going to help me shop.

Sandra,
Welcome! I saw your mother at Mrs.
Marie Sims wake. She always looks great.
Enjoy your trip to Reno and don't worry about wearing a bathing suit...
at our age we can get away with a lot.
Sandra---Glad to hear from you...Was wondering were you were. Ella Joy is right!!!Age is mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter to anyone else.
Sandra, It was good talking to you the other day and I'm glad you are on the blog. Have a great trip and tell Sherry hello. And don't worry about shopping for a bathing suit, you will look just fine.
Hey Sandra,
It is good hearing from you.. I
know y'all will have a wonderful
time at Sherri's.. Do tell her hello.. I didn't realize Mike's
daughter was that old.. Jill's
oldest son will be 16 on August 17 and that is your Mom's birthday and
Chris, Margaret's son's birthday.
Are y'all enjoying retirement?? We
sure are... It sure is good, not
having to set a clock to get up..
Will chat later !!!
Sandra, Great to have you on the blog. Have a safe trip to Reno, and I agree don't worry about the bathing suit. Would like for all of us to have a reunion some time in the future.
