Hello everyone, Gustav was a mess. I just read all the past post, and am thankful everyone made it through the storm. Alexandria was hit hard, we had flooding all around us. Two more inches and I would have had water in my house. We lost power before the storm hit and did not get it back until Thursday night. We all stayed at our daughter Kim's, she was without power for only two hours. Thank God for her being so close and we could all go over there.
Other than the trees and mess, we will all be okay. I just am so saddened for all my neighbors and friends that have been hit really hard.
Yesterday Gibbie, my cousin who is Disaster Coordinator at the Baptist Building in Alexandria, called Buster to take a trailer filled with supplies to a church in Livingston. They were going to be preparing meals for around six thousand people in the shelters, nursing homes, etc. We were not sure how the gas situation was and if he would be able to get there and back. He made the trip and back in six and half hours. Baton Rouge was hit really hard too.
Glad to hear about all of you and hope Ike takes another route, I do not want a replay. Take care and will chat again soon...

Charleen, good to hear from you, and glad your family is o.k. We have a mess in our yard, but eventually we will have it all cleaned up. It looks like Ike is going to Texas, and I feel bad for them, but am thankful it doesn't look like we will get it. Lots of people here are still without electricity, but we have it. Everywhere you go there are piles of trees, limbs, etc. Have a blessed day.
Janice glad you and your family are okay too. I know what you mean to see all the furniture, carpet etc. all on the street is just heart breaking. I am glad that Ike took a turn west, hope it turns further west to spare all of us. Take care.
Hey! I'm from Texas! However, I am glad Ike is not hitting Louisiana! Y'all have had enough! I am on the "A" team, which means I will have to be at my hospital when a hurricane makes landfall. I guess Jack will hunker down here by himself! I'm all for wishing Ike on Mexico!
Margaret, I was hoping that Ike would go to the mountains of Mexico, where not many live. But I am praying that you and your family will be safe and that your home will be protected. Let us hear from you and know what is going on. Take care.
