November Greetings from NYC

Hi all. I have indeed been away for quite a while. As you know I was in Cincinnati and St Louis with Emma, the musical which had very sucessfull runs in both cities. When you count the summer I have been away from home almost an entire half year, which makes unpacking and cleaning my little apartment having been away so long a bit of chore. This is all complicated by 3 things: First we did a very hurriedly put together concert version of Emma here in NY for producers and money people to try and see if there was interest in moving the show to Broadway. It would be nice if this happens but it of course is a very difficult time for every entertainment venue given the economy. The presentation was this past Tue so it's too early to see if it paid off. We did 2 performances at a small rehearsal studio and both performances were packed with people. So we'll see. Second complication is that I am fighting the cold that is going around the city. Had a scratchy throat now for several days and trying to keep it from developing into full fledged...bug. Thirdly, I have the dreaded jury duty starting on Monday. No way of knowing how much time that is going to take. I postponed it once while I was out of town so have to do it for now. Given all that I am happy to be at home at least for a while and looking forward to settling back into my apartment.....once I get it cleaned and straightend up. Ah the life of a gypsy. Hope to be a more active participant in the blog again when I get settled. Will probably spend Thanksgiving in Easton MD with my friend Bruce and then we will drive to North Carolina for a few days to see his daughter who is making him a very young Grandfather in Jan. That's a quick update for now. Will post more soon and try to comment on all other posts.
