It is a beautiful and cold morning in Hammond. I've been thinking about everyone.
Where is Bonnie? We haven't heard from her in months.
Jeff, how are you? And all those beautiful grand-babies.
CB and I are doing well and going to see Kaden (age 6) play basketball. These little ones are actually good shooters. I love basket ball and remember playing. I do regret
not playing my senior year. Mrs. Singleton was really upset with me. Now, I'm realizing that we lost Hilda our senior year...who was one of the best players. I think Kathleen may have been the only senior that played our last year. No wonder Mrs.Singleton was upset. But, I never had the right shoes...we had so little money that I did not tell Mama or Daddy that I really wanted a pair of the high-top shoes. I just wore the tennis shoes that we regularly wore to school.
Okay, gang, I want to know that ya'll are still alive and well.
BTW, Renee, the Plan D prescription drug insurance plan does not do what our agent told us. So, I do not think we will be getting Plan D. Bettye,
have you decided what you will be doing?

EJ, I knew that didn't sound right. The Medicare programs are so complicated it is ridiculous. And if it is that difficult for people our age, imagine what it is like for the ones in their seventies and eighties. I try to take care of my clients, but it has become overwhelming. There are way too many programs and too little transparency.
You can go to medicare.gov, enter your medications and find out which plan is best for you and what you will pay in premiums and co-payments. But how many "seniors" know how to use the computer? I could go on and on. But I won't. And I still haven't decided what I'm going to do!
Renee, I really had not seen or heard of any insurance like EJ was talking about either, (paying for 100%)...
EJ, I am using the same plan that Harold has.. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield, and it has paid really good if you use generics, if there is no genteric, it cost him $5 or$10 dollars, although, all he takes is a fluid pill and a
blood pressure pill.. I just take a fluid pill every now and then, so far, but I know the time is coming for a lot more, like maybe this summer when I have my check up..
Hi! What's this talk about medicare? Gosh, I'm not old enough for that, yet! However, the real reason I continue to work is for our insurance. Thank goodness I love my job!
Jack and I are going to Cancun March 6-10th with some friends. I need a little R and R!
This weekend we are going to Austin to visit two of my children, Sheri and her family and Chris and his dog Adelaide.
As of 2/1 I am now on Medicare.
I have Blue Cross 65 supplement and Blue Cross RX for medicine.
We have had Blue Cross through Kenny's work, and this just works better for us. I received that Medicare card and thought only old people carry these, and then I realize I am now there.
We are doing great, have been very busy, but I do try to stop and read the blog, but don't always take time to respond. Great hearing from all of you. Have a blessed day.
