We found out at our reunion that Amanda Lilly has lung cancer. At the same time, Kathleen admitted that as treasurer of our class, we had $200.00 left over from our last reunion 20 some odd years ago. Needless to say, it was just in a checking account and the bank ate all of our money. Kathleen and Don felt so bad that they insisted putting their own money ($200) into someone else's hands so they could forget about it. I'm not sure exactly who came up with the suggestion of giving it to Amanda (since we could not convince Kathleen that she and Don did not have to do this), but it was a wonderful idea that made us all happy.
