I talked to Amanda today. She said the treatment they have been doing for her lung cancer is not working plus she can't tolerate the laser treatment. Therefore, they have placed her with Hospice. Amanda sounded very upbeat and said she had lived her life like she wanted and had done what she wanted.........from working on bicycles to learning how to change oil in her car. She went on to say the doctors can't predict when her time is up, but she is going to keep on living till then. They will keep her comfortable and she has her family around her.
Ann Rimes was visiting with her when I called. Ann lives in Prairieville and is related to Amanda. She said to tell everyone hello. I'll include her address in our directory and will send everyone a copy when it's time to mail out the Christmas cards.
I leave tomorrow for our vacation as "leaf Peepers" in the New England states. Will be gone 10 days and probably will not have access to a computer. I will take pictures, though, for everyone to see when I return.

Marg, thanks for the update on Amanda. It is so sweet of you to keep us informed on all of our
classmates.
Have a great trip. I'll be thinking of you, Jack, Charlie & Sandy enjoying the changing of the leaves and the cool weather.
