Hi Everyone, first of all thank you all for your expressions of sympathy in our loss. Dad is now without pain and at peace.
Now I have some exciting news to share. I will be leaving South Georgia in October and possibly moving back to Oregon. This is something I have been thinking about for a long time and now it just seems as though everything is falling into place at lightning speed. Really wanted to take my car but did not feel comfortable travelling across country alone. I found out Friday that my brother-in-law and sister-in-law who live out there are driving down in October for a short visit. Adventurer that I am I said great, I will follow you back out there! So that is the plan...unless someone wants to ride to Oregon with me and then fly back down I will still be alone but at least they will be travelling with me. Any takers on taking a trip to the NW? I AM SO EXCITED!!

Hi, Hilda! Your news makes me so happy for you. Isn't it good to look forward to something. I have finally decided to go part-time in January. I've told my boss and I'm prepared to earn less money (I start receiving my SS then if there's any left! Boy, I would love to make that trip with you. It's good to have someone travelling with you.
Some people might think I am crazy to want a new beginning at age 65 but that is exactly what I need. Wish you could make the trip with me also, I have been wanting to drive back out for a very long time and do some sight seeing. Sounds like a good trip for the Slumber Party Gang sometime...you might want to fly though. Some might not want to drive that long. The country out there is so beautiful you would all love it!
Hilda, I left a comment sometime back but for some reason did not post. Anyway, no I don't think you are crazy. I think I told you that Roll's son,John & his family, live in
Washington State. They live on Fox Island which is just out side Gig Harbor. It is beautiful area and if we ever leave La. that's where we would go.
EJ I did forget about Rolls son being out there. I will have to see how far that is from the Portland area so if you are ever out to visit maybe we can get together some time. Roll too if he ever goes out.
I am so amazed at how everything is just falling into place! I am so excited about going...even tho it is going to be a long drive. That's ok tho since we are going to take our time and do some sightseeing. Don't you want to ride along???
