Just wanted to let everybody know that we got lights at 3:30 P.M. this afternoon... I am just so excited... Thank all of you for being so concerned about us... The older I get, the worse it is trying to stay cool, when the lights are out..... At least it was only 5 days this time, instead of 13 days when Katrina hit... Oh, I can't believe how good that air feels.... Will chat later !!!!

We now have electricity, too. 3days and nights was long enough, but lots of people here still don't have any. Kenny says it does not hurt too sweat a little. We still have lots of clean up, but eventally that will end too. Now I have to be concerned for my son Chad in Boca Raton, Fla. just north of Miami, looks like that may get some of Ike. I pray that storm will just go away.
Janice, so glad you guys have electricity. Most of Hammond is now out of the dark. I, too, hope Ike stays away from the Gulf. But we can never let our guard down. These hurricanes certainly have a mind of their own.
