Cakewalks, Christmas Memories & Other Stuff, cont.

Richert, I do remember the cakewalks at City Hall. I don't remember who sponsored them and I don't think I ever won a cake but they were fun. And the cakes looked delicious. I'm sorry I missed you when you were in St. Louis. The pictures of your visit with Jeff's family were great.

I also remember when the town Christmas tree was next to City Hall. I think it is amazing how many of us so fondly remember such simple things as bags of fruit, nuts and candy. And it was so much fun to ride around town and look at the Christmas lights and see who won the lighting contest. I was always fascinated with Dr. Small and Rita's decorating of their huge house.. (But I sure dreaded seeing him come up the steps with his black bag.) Janice, I agree it was wonderful growing up in a small town.

Margaret, do you have my current address.? I would love to see your family Christmas cards. And thank you for the ecards. I do remember "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", but I wasn't sure if it was a stunt night theme or our eighth grade graduation theme song.

And I share your love of swings. I think I spent half of my young life sitting on the front porch "watching all the boys go by". I have a swing on my front porch, one in the front yard and one in the field. But now I just watch all the wildlife go by.

Charlene, did you ever sell your house?

Bonnie, where are you??????

It is so great to hear from all of you. I hope I'll soon have time to post some more pictures from our class albums. I have sure enjoyed the pictures all of you have posted. Keep um coming.

Love ya,

Renee
