When we were young daddy would cut a pine tree. I just loved the smell. Mother loved decorating but we had so little money that each ornament meant something. We would also
string popcorn for the tree. Ice cycles were a must.
I especially remember the year Renee and I got skates. We wore our shoes with them and
adjusted them with a key. We did a lot of skating that year. I believe Charleen and
Margaret might have gotten some too.
When I lived in N.O. I would always come home to Mama's for Christmas. She would fix a feast. I would bring the left overs home and eat them for a week.
Then in 1980 when C.B. came into my life, we would travel to his home town Newellton.
We would either stop at Mama's first then go there or go there and then come by Mama.
It was a lot of riding (3 l/1 hr. drive to Newellton). Then in 1992 after we bought
our house at the Lake Front, we decided that's it, no more traveling.
