I hope you are doing okay in North Carolina! Hilda, Richert posted on FB that the winds were not as bad as expected so I think they made it through safely. Texas and especially Louisiana can empathize.
Margaret, Irene was not really an issue for us in Cary,NC. We were far enough away form the coast to escape everything except a little wind and rain. We were just back from Vermont and glad to miss Irene there where Vermont had historical level flooding. We were in Burlington Vt. to watch Caroline compete in the US National Triathlon Championship. She placed in the top third of the US and of coarse we were so proud to watch her. Looking forward to the reunion and will probably come down to Lousiana in a few weeks to see Jackson who is having health issues.
Jeff, good to hear from you. I'm sorry I missed your call Monday morning, however, I did try to call you back. I saw the awful flooding in Vermont and the lost of 200+ year old covered bridges.
Congratulations to Caroline. You have to be very proud of her.
Hilda, Jackson is Jeff's younger brother. He may be 8 - 10 years younger than us. I can't remember.
I remember that Jackson had a dog and named it "J.D."...Jeff, correct me if I'm not recalling this correctly. Of course everyone was wondering why J.D. The explanation was easy "Jackson's Dog".
Thanks EJ, guess I don't remember him. Smart kid to think of that name for his dog, guess he didn't want his older brothers to think they had any rights to his dog.
Yes, yes, yes. I just sat down to the computer and heard something dripping. The chair cushion is all wet in one corner. Yep, water coming from the a/c duck. Ceiling in the living room area is 12 ft. I'm thinking we have a roof leak and the water is draining to the a/c duck. We have had rain for 3 straight days. Sometimes very hard and then light. I have no idea how many inches we have gotten, but it's got to be a lot. I'll keep you posted.

Jeff, glad you had no problems because of Irene. I too send congratulations to Caroline, that is an awesome accomplishment.
Is Jackson your brother? Hope all goes well for him.
Margaret thank you for the news of Richert. I saw his post on FB a day or so after I posted the inquiry here. Glad he had no problems also.

Are you getting a lot of rain in your area?
